Hi!

I am looking for a laptop for back to school. With the Prime day ongoing and others store going crazy with deals, I'm not sure if I should buy now or wait for back to school period.

Here is the requirement :

  • Light, very light. I have 3 hours of transit to do each day.
  • Min 8gb of RAM
  • Primary disk SSD of 256gb
  • Good performance so I can do Google Docs but also Photoshop (I don't need to game)
  • Preferably good looking
  • Windows
  • With a budget of around 1000$ CANADIAN

So far, I have found a good fit, the Ideapad 530S with the cheapest model 81EV000HUS being at 910$.

Is this a good deal, do you have any other deals or should I wait for back to school?

Thanks!

Lenovo's Ideapads are really nice and not too unaffordable.  Used Surface Pros are good too.

I'm not sure with used computers, do you have a good website where I can find some?

Somewhere between 13 and 15. More than 7-8 hours of battery life.

The New XPS 15 base model is 1200$ in Canada, too expensive for me if you need to add an SSD.

might be a little heavy but has 8th gen i5 8550U 256gb ssd and a MX150 GPU. Not for gaming, but will do just fine for internet browsing

I'll avoid 15 inch models since you need light weight
