HDD temperature difference

Go to solution Solved by WereCat,

1.) Not the same temperature sensor

2.) Not the same location of the sensor

3.) Each drive may be getting a different airflow or lacking it

Hi,

There's 320GB refurbished hdd that has 37°C-38°C idle temperature,

And a new 1TB WD HDD which has 41°C-42°C idle temperature.

They are both 7200 rpm.

Crystal disc info shows both have good health status.

The storage size has something to do with the temperature or the newer disc has issue?

Placed them in the same exact position for testing.

The sensor inside the disc you mean I presume.
