You can switch wires around but they would have to be switched exactly the same way on both ends... so that each pin leads to the same pin on the other end as it did originally.  The top three are all 12V lines and the bottom three are all grounds so it technically doesn't matter between those groups, but don't cross them from the bottom row and the top row.

alright, thanks. Can I ask why? They are all the same cable aren't they?

Some cables are positive, some are negative, it like plugging in a powerchord backwards that only fits in one way. Putting power into something like the negative one can short out the card pretty quickly.

So as long as the cables match on either side I will be fine?  Like the cable on the top left of one connector will go to the top left connector on the other side? It's kind of hard to explain this stuff over text >.<

No, only few PSU's actually have one to one cables. You need to put the cables back in the exact position they were originally in, if you don't you will ruin both PSU and GPU.

Each row of three cannot be mixed with the other row of three.  Each pin must lead to another pin in the same row at the other end.
