New laptop

Hello!

 

I'm writing because I'm thinking of buying a laptop. I'm into software developing, designing, web developing and IT Management. I ocassionaly do video and photo editing as a hobby. I'm getting a Windows 10 Pro laptop, but I'm not sure which of this two will be better for me.

 

- Dell XPS 15 9570

- Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 2018

 

If I bought one of these I would buy it with max specs

 

Which one do you guys think would fit better my needs?

Which max specs is better/cheaper, both lenovo and dell are good brands (not HP) and so go for the cheapest or the one that most appeals to you. The thinkpad is designed for professionals mind

I've used both at work and they are both nice laptops. Personally I would go with the XPS, they are fantastic. Regarding what grimreeper said, both will be good and if one is a better deal, I'd say go with it. I have noticed HP has greatly improved over the last few years whereas Lenovo has become a bit hit or miss.

Both models you listed can be specc'd differently, and are priced differently depending on location.

You haven't given us nearly enough information to go on. If you list the spec and price of each of the models you're looking at, it's easier fo rus to decide.

 

Windows 10 Pro can be installed on any machine, so don't base that on your purchasing decision.

I don't like HP for it's usability as I can't install a new OS onto it as it always fails where as others it doesn't (I have had the same issue on 5 different HP laptops at least)
