how to turn on laptop with external keyboard with lid closed

So I have an Alienware 17R3 connected to an external monitor and I use it with my laptop closed which I have no issues with, but I would like to see if there is someway that I can turn on my laptop from my keyboard while the lid is closed without having to open the lid and pressing the power button every time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

i dont know if there is a way without disabling the sensor that recognizes if the lid is open or closed and then soldering a separate power button from the contact the regular power button is connected to inside the pc.  Most of the time if I have my laptop attached a tv I just open it up and change the graphics settings to disable the main monitor when an external one is plugged in.

Do yo know if I can run on display from the HDMI port and another monitor from the display port?
