i currently have 2 24" 1080p displays, but they are cheap displays and have terrible colors.. so i want to replace them.

 

i'm looking at a LG 29UM69G-B which is 2560x1080, and a Dell UltraSharp U2412M which is 1920x1200

 

whichever one i buy will go in the middle, and my 2 1080p displays will go at either side. 

 

in terms of gaming i mostly play Overwatch, and for the productivity side of things i mostly have browsertabs/windows open and edit documents.

The 21:9 ultrawide for sure. You get more pixel space, better productivity and a wider field of view in games, like Overwatch. And movies will look amazing.

I like the 30+ inch ultrawides not a fan of 1080p ones either but if you can not gert the 3440x1440p then  the 29 inch one is good for its cost

I'd go with the 29", as it'll be the same height as your 24" monitors and will look more cohesive.

better productivity? how exactly? vertical space makes more sense to me. i really like the 16:10 aspect ratio for productivity.. but i've never used 21:9 so that's why i'm asking.

Team Fortress 2 actually extends the field of view outward to properly fill a 21:9 monitor rather than FOV cropping. Paladins apparently did but it's broken by this point. I don't understand why Overwatch crops it.

otherwise 21:9 players have too much of an advantage..
