[Build Check] 600$ Gaming PC.

Hey all you dumdums,

-The 2200g is cheaper and faster than the 1200

-The 580 8GB is $259

1200 has better thermal solution and same overclocking potential.

Also no need to gamble for motherboard compatibility, even though it should be solved at this point.

His solution is 300$ for mobo and RX 580

Mobo is priced between 60-80$

The 580 8gb has a included motherboard.
The 580 8gb is 269.99$ at lowest price as far as I have found.
The 2200g requires another cpu to do the bios thing which I just don't want to do.

Yes it is Freesync

Rx 580 is a good choice then to remove tearing. You will almost allways be able to crack 75hz, but in those titles you cant you wont have any tearing

Ah, prices change on the daily it seems, but 269 is worth it for that card.

ASRock boards are all ryzen 2 ready, and the b350m Pro4 is a great board for the money

I'll take 12nm silicon over a wraith spire.  The stealth ain't too bad, and you could probably find a spire on ebay for literally like 3-5 dollars.  Or just ask around, somebody you know has one.

Pretty hard to get a new b350 board for 30$.. And I can not agree more.. Prices change daily..
Every day I have to swap out my ram for the build because it goes off sale or too expensive..

If you are in the US, go to microcenter.  They will give you 30 bucks off a mbo with CPU purchase.  Not to mention, the 2200g is 79.99 there, and the b350m Pro4 is 60.

Plane ticket to Georgia is more expensive then what I'm saving.. In my state there isn't a microcenter.

Well that's fucking stupid.  A t2 can be had for 10 and that will let you full OC a 2200g.

2200g is still 14nm. It is branded as a 2000 series for some reason. It is also using bad thermal paste under the ihs instead of solder which is under the 1200.

At that point he might aswell graj the GPU-MOBO combo as he is getting it at a good deal.

Yes prices change daily. The mx 330 cougar is nolonger the go to budget case as it doubled in price

The choice of CPU is only really down to whether or not he wants to OC. To utilize the 1200 to max he should OC to 3.7-3.8 ghz (or beyond and up to 4ghz)

That sucks.  You might be able to do it online, but otherwise I guess your SOL.  I'd still get the 2200g, most manufactures will say whether or not the board is ryzen 2 ready.

Wouldn't the iGPU of the 2200g take up some ram? Even when using different GPU? Or is there a way to make it take up no ram?

If you have a discrete GPU, it should not occupy any ram.

Still I don't have another cpu to do the weird bios thing needed.

Unless you specifiy it to take up Ram in the BIOS it wont take up any. Unless there is no GPU installed

Now that I think of it, I have like 3 spires in my basement, and two of them are LED.  If they're going for 20+ I should sell those.

Yeah, but still doesn't mean that anyone is going to buy one of them.. When they can just get like a t2 or something else.

Yeah, suppose.  I do logistics for UPS, I wonder if they'd let me ship them cheap enough to sell them for 5.

The motherboard I'm getting for free with the Rx 580 says "Ryzen 2000 ready!"
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157761&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker, LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=
Does this mean I can get the 2200g? Since it is slightly better in performance?
And what is the difference between the solder and "bad thermal paste"?

They don't have be on super tight, just snug enough to make proper contact.  Zipties are plastic so no worries of shorting your board.
