I'd reccomend trying to go for an 8th gen CPU laptop. The performance bump from 7th gen will be worth it.

I know that the Acer Nitro 5, Acer Swift 3 and Dell Inspiron 15 (7570 i think) all have 8th gen i7 CPUs. Slap 8 more gigs of ram in them bad boys and you have yourself quite a good laptop

XPS 15 has cooling issue so it will throttle.

What software do you use for video editing? Some prefer higher cores while some will benefit with a beefy dGPU

I'd advise you to do a bit more research on Premiere Pro first, as it is fairly different to Final Cut. A potential issue is that Final Cut feels a lot smoother while editing than Premiere Pro (on the same hardware even), because it does background rendering.

@ZM Fong "Those guides aren't useful. Helios 300 has mediocre cooling and OKish build quality. GV62 has mediocre build quality and OK-good cooling. Predator 17 is somewhat OKish for a high end laptop. Also, brands don't really matter"

So, DELL XPS 15 not Good ?

I'm just asking whether weight and battery life are big concerns to you

Consider these, all with 8750H+1060:

1. Alienware 15/17 - be aware of potential heatsink issue, needs repaste

2. Asus GL703GM - OK-good cooling, needs repaste, quite portable

3. Dell G7 - entry level IPS

4. Asus GL504GM - mediocre cooling, quite portable

5. Acer Helios 300 - mediocre cooling, OKish build quality

Illegear have some decent models as well, however I noticed you are from Sarawak, thus customer support will not be convenient:

1. Illegear Onyx (TongFang GK5CN6Z) - portable

2. Illegear Raven Elite (TongFang)

3. Illegear Z7 (Quanta NL9K)

4. Illegear Laguna (Quanta NL5A)

This Illegear im gonna give up this. $$$ .
