So i bought a new motherboard and did some overclocking with my 3570k and i reached 4.6ghz but was unstable so i stepped back to 4.5 with 1.190v but when i tried to boot up the pc shuts down and the debug said code 07 and 9a, this is with an msi mpower z77 mobo and with my asrock extreme4 i ge debug codes 3b(or 36 not really clear) and 15

I tried the cmos button multiple times and tried each ram stick in each slot, also leaved the pc off for 30min... On the msi motherboard i tried the second bios but still got the debug codes

The manual should have a list

If you dont have it you can get the PDF from MSI support website

I do have the list

This is what asrock and msi said:

Asrock:

15:Pre-memory North Bridge initialization is started

3b:Post-Memory South Bridge initialization is started

36:CPU post-memory initialization. Boot Strap Processor (BSP) selection CPU post-memory initialization. System Management Mode (SMM) initialization

Msi debugging codes coming soon

Yup correct, it could have been a weak chip.

Or the PSU couldn't cope and gave it "unclean" power that fluctuated and damaged it.

if you still own the stock cooler you can just RMA it, Intel or AMD have no way to tell it was OC'd and they probibily wont bother to test it.

Well i guess the chip wsnt so bad since i clocked it to 5ghz with good temps and almost stable.. U might be right with the psu... I got a corair cx750m, i think this is a good one... Not the best but won't give high spikes.. So high that it destroyed my cpu
