Need some build suggestions

Hi, so my ssd just died. Since my computer parts are old so I think I might as well just upgrade some parts too. So I’m mainly looking for a m.2 with possible lots of sata ports motherboard, processor and maybe rams? I don’t really have any budget so the cheaper the better. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

 

FYI my current build is 

i7 2770k

msi z77 mpower

 12gb ddr3 rams

Edit: BTW I got a CM seidon 120m so if the motherboard support the cooler will be even better!

Gotta know if you want the latest or if you're okay with stuff that's one or two/three generations old and also what your usage is. Gaming, CAD, reddit? :P

Also, confused as to your CPU. There's a 3770k? If that's the case have you considered OC'ing it?

Oh it’s actually a 3770k. I bought this computer 4-5 years ago so I don’t really remember it is. The MPower got built in oc helper but I don’t really care about OCing. I will say casual gaming? Surely latest stuffs are always the best but not necessarily high end.

just slap a graphics card you can afford in there. Like, an RX 580

This CPU is still plenty strong, so just buy another SATA SSD will do. While NVMe ones (I dont call them M.2 ones, because there are both slow SATA and fast NVMe SSDs using M.2 socket) provide much higher transfer rate, their latency stays the same as SATA SSDs. Unless you drag huge files around all the time, there's no point in buying NVMe drives. If you have the budget, get a higher capacity SATA SSD.

Might be an option for me too. But my motherboard is acting weirdly recently like some of my hard disks will magically disappear and re-appear later. I tried to replace sata cables but no lucky so I might as well just upgrade it? Idk if it’s because of my psu?

4-5 years isnt a bad time for a new PSU. Even if it turns out that the PSU isnt the problem, you can use the new one for the new system anyway

Well I guess I will just replace my PSU and SSD first. So should I get a 600w or 750w?

Even 550w will do. Make sure it's tier 3 or above though
