I bought an old computer for $50 which was a steal with a 1tb hard drive but i would like to update it. It needs updating in the RAM department with a very powerful 4 gb of RAM. It also needs a new graphics card, new os (currently Windows 4) and new core (currently Intel I2). I would like it to run CSGO at about medium settings. If you need any additional info just ask. Thanks! budget is 500

Current PSU wattage? CPU-Z for Motherboard Model and Bios version will also show you DDR type(2, 3, or 4). Include current graphics card if there is one, as well as specific processor model. This information should all be displayed in the CPU-Z application.

CPU-Z Download

Try the 32 Bit versions first. One of them will likely run. Once you have the information post it here, and we will be far better equipped to assist you in selecting your upgrades.

Intel i2? Windows 4? These don't exist.

What specific model?

Do you have your other specs?

Yeah, you'll need to upgrade that whole system. What country are you from?

So I went through PC Parts picker and came pretty gosh darn close to your $500 dollar price point with currently available items.

You will be at the ultra low end of LGA 1151 however if you so choose at a later time you will be able to massively increase your CPU performance while retaining the same motherboard.

The RAM is only 8 GB worth, but should be okay for most games.

The GTX 1060 should be able to run CS:GO for you no problem. However until you upgrade your CPU the GTX 1060 6GB might very well not display it's full capabilities.

I included the M.2 SSD if only because in most all tasks if you use it as your system drive and the drive on which you store CS:GO it should offer you a noticeable improvement in boot and game load times. While the page file being located on the significantly higher bandwidth M.2 SSD should make your system more responsive overall,.

If you elect not to acquire the M.2 SSD then instead of that you could acquire yourself a beefier processor freeing up enough to afford a Intel Pentium Gold G5500.
