I bought a laptop about six months ago for $1140, and paid $300 for a warranty that said if it broke beyond repair, I would get my money back in store credit. Sadly, it broke. I now have $1140 in Best Buy Canada store credit, and am planning to build a PC instead of buying a pre-built because I hear it's cheaper. This is my build so far, I will be using it primarily for gaming, and sometimes other day-to-day tasks like homework, watching videos, and surfing the web. I want some feedback, and I really want to know whether I should stick with the unlocked CPU, because I'm not sure if overclocking is worth it. Will it make that big a difference?

There are probably better builds for the cash, but this is my 2 cents.

You can't overclock the i5 8600K on a H series board. Only on Z series boards.

The monitor is pretty small.

You would want dual channel memory to get the most out of your system.

What are you using it for?

I will be using it primarily for games and day to day stuff like watching videos, doing homework, and surfing the web.

Also, I have a problem; I must spend $1140 in Best Buy Canada store credit. I have updated the list by the way.

Take this, put it in a new case, get a new GPU, and 8GB more of RAM.
