What is the usage for?  And what is "not too expensive"?  To some people, that's like $50, to others, more like $300, etc.

A "regular XLR mic" doesn't mean much... you can get XLR on everything from $20 walmart specials to multi-thousand dollar professional mics.  We really need to know how much quality matters for what you're doing, but if it's just for chatting or something like that, the interface linked above should do nicely.  Just keep in mind you do sort of get what you pay for so if one day you step up to a multi-hundred dollar mic, the shortcomings of that interface vs one that costs as much as the mic will likely become apparent.  Well, in truth it will probably be noticeable even on a cheap mic, but again, how much that matters depends what you want to do with it.  If you're wondering what the downsides are to a cheap interface like this vs something better, it's primarily noise/hiss.  There will of course be other measures of quality but that will be the most obvious.
