Help with 1440p ips moniter

martward

Hi all,

I have a question regarding a new monitor. I am currently using 2 U2414H's and I want to replace one of the with a higher resolution screen (and preferably spend less then 350 euro) .

I am very content with the U2414H, as in I don't notice any input lag, ghosting or any of that. Also I am a casual gamer who mostly plays RPGs (Witcher, Mass Effect, Metro).

I was looking at the U2518D which scores better on most fronts compared to the U2414H, but the input lag is apparently greater with the 2518D.

Do you think I will notice this? I sometimes play games like CS:GO and Overwatch, but I am absolutely not serious about it.

Does anyone have experience gaming on this monitor?

Are there any other 1440p monitors you would recommend? I slightly prefer a 25 inch due to the higher ppi but if a 27 inch monitor is much more preferred than I would consider it.

Well, if you want a Dell in that price range and an Ultrasharp too, then the U2518D is the only real option.

I did a similar upgrade earlier this week, except I went for BenQ monitors previously (2 GW2480s) and changed one for a 25" QHD as well (PD2500Q) which matched the other monitor as closely as possible.

Well it doesn't necessarily have to be Dell, more that I rather like the u2414h and that it isn't a "gaming" monitor but I really don't mind. However if the 2518D would be much worse in terms of screen tearing (not sure how you call that when it's on the monitor side) and input lag than I'd have to consider a different monitor.

How is the PD2500Q? Would you recommend it?

So far I really like the PD2500Q, yes. I've never had a non-glossy monitor with such nice colors out of the box. Games look pretty excellent too. It's a heavy thing, though, and not super power efficient.
