I'm having trouble finding the updated drivers for my CPU. I have an i3 3220.

well the chipset can have drivers to update it all i can find for cpu is the bios updates for old board to support the cpu

 

but to see if ur onboard has new drivers this can be helpful http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect/graphics

CPUs don't have drivers. Windows (except Windows 8 RT) is specifically designed to operate for x86 architecture, which is what AMD and Intel processors are based on.

Okay, I'll admit I's wrong. CPUs don't have drivers...there...did it.

You can update the chipset from the Intel website. CPUs do not have drivers

I think the general consensus here is that CPUs DO NOT in ANY WAY have drivers.

Also, CPUs don't have any drivers that need to be updated, it is part of the Windows OS, and will almost never be updated, unless their is a kernel update (ie: going from Vista to Win 7).

I would like point out that, yes, Windows does install a driver for the CPU to operate and function but you can't, IIRC, download a CPU driver for Intel or AMD of their websites. But I could be wrong about this.

Yes, which is why I pointed out that the driver is an integral part of the Windows OS. It exists, and is only updated when going to a new kernel revision, eg: upgrading from Vista to 7.

Okay, so, everyone else is correct because technically CPUs don't have drivers because of the fact that Windows already has the necessary drivers to make them work.
