I’ve heard great things about the I7 8700K for gaming but don’t know if I want to spend 350$ on a CPU any other suggestions? I may have to end up going with the 8700K. I have heard some things about the Ryzen 7 2700X as well but heard the 8700K is better. Let me know if you have any other suggestions. This is for gaming, and its my first build.

If it's for gaming then get the 8700K.

If at all possible wait. The usual shit is hitting the fan soon on Intel (well, again)

So with that Info, maybe an i5 would be a better idea...

i7 8700k or i5 8600k

The difference between the two, if your just gaming, is marginal.

Aprox the same fps with both with the i5 cpu use greater.

Get the best you can afford.
