Elitebook shuts down when battery falls below 20%

I've noticed that as soon as my battery hits 20%, the laptop shuts down without warning. I can make it back onto the desktop in Windows, but it shuts down again after about 5 seconds on the desktop. As soon as I plug it in, it doesn't happen. Does anyone have a solution for this? It's an HP Elitebook Folio 9470M. Thanks!

My Lenovo MIIX 510 did the same thing, I say google it, it should be an issue with the power settings you are using on your laptop but mine did it under 30% except when plugged in, it is the equivalent of setting your laptop to auto shut down when at a low battery level but its at 20% instead.

Kogan 144hz monitor (Overclocked to 165) Ryzen 3 3100, RX 580 Gigabyte Windforce (1450 mhz) 2 x 8GB CL15 DDR4 3133 (Overclocked from 2400) Phanteks P300 white (RGB set to purple), Zarrius Deskpad (I have the yellow one), Razer Deathadder Essential, CK62 wireless (don’t use it wireless)

You may need to re-calibrate the battery so Windows knows the true capacity. If the battery becomes mis-calibrated, Windows may think the battery has 20% left when really it's running on absolutely empty.

This article on howtogeek.com lists the steps. https://www.howtogeek.com/172271/how-to-calibrate-your-laptops-battery-for-accurate-battery-life-estimates/

Failing that, there might be a fault with your battery.
