So I built my first computer after using a gaming laptop from CyberpowerPC. So needless to say, I'm extremely happy with abandoning prebuilt computers. However, the one thing I over looked was the RGB potential for my build.

I have a Phantek Eclipse P400 tempered glass case that came with and RGB strip and power cable and it's all set up, and looks great! However, I wanted to get new case fans, and potentially invest in water cooling, because my setup looks too empty inside, and the urge to build is too strong lol

I have a MSI Z370-A PRO mobo, which contains no RGB header. And although I can return the motherboard in exchange for a new one, I'd rather not go through the whole installation process of drivers and Windows and the sort.

So I came across an RGB header-like product that plugs into a free PCIe slot and allows for the connection of up to 4 RGB lights and/or fans. I was just curious if this is a viable solution, or if I should just get an external RGB controller. I figured a PCIe controller would be better looking than clunky external piece.

Graphic Design + Gaming Machine:

CPU: i7-8700 GPU: ASUS GTX 1060 6GB RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengence STORAGE: 1TB Samsung 860 EVO SSD, 2TB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM CASE: Phantek P400 Tempered Glass

That is only an expansion card for extending the number of connections and devices that will work in conjunction with an RGB header, so it must require one for it to work. There is a manual mode but limits your ability to change or define the colors/modes.

For RGB solutions you can get a kit from someone like Deepcool or Cable mod and use a remove control based RGB system.
