Hey guys,

I'm planning on doing a new PC build. I'm currently running an older system, and I'm running in to issues where my PC just can't keep up with what I'm doing.

I will use it for gaming (sometimes while recording), some after effects work and a bit of programming.

Here is my build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PCKrGG

I already have the SSD, HDD, graphics card and cooler (or a similar cooler, I can't tell).

Also, should I go with the Ryzen 1600X, or should I spend a little more and go with the 2600X, or would it be better to spend even more and go with the 1700(x)?

Or should I ditch AMD completely and go with an Intel build?

I wish I also had the ram already.. 183 dollars for 16 GB? O.o

I say Go for the 1600, Over the 1600x, If you plan on Overclocking, Plus you already have a New CPU Fan so I dont see why not.

I say stick with the 1600, its a good option if you have the budget, You can upgrade to the 2600.

And side note, $180 for 16gb is nothing compared to Canada.

For the same RAM you picked is $237

You can both overclock them ?

You can, Never said you couldn't, 1600 is a better option if you buy a Cooler, Plus it Over clocks Better then the 1600x.

Are you saying that as a rule, a 1600 will overclock higher than a 1600X?

Well, It is a hit or a miss, Some oberclock better.

"it depends on the mainboard and the silicon lottery. i have my self the 1600x and got it easily overclocked to 4ghz with only 1.375v and my ddr4 is also running on 3200mhz. I have the asus crosshair 6 hero motherboard and the nzxt kraken as cooling for it. The 1600 is better if you dont plan on buying a cooler becouse it comes with one and people say it is decent. you will get the 1600 to 3.8 maybe 3.9ghz voltage somewere betwen 1.4v-1.475v. maybe better if you get lucky with the silicon. the choise in the end is yours. get the 1600 buy a better motherboard or get the 1600x and get a cheaper board. if money is not the issue then get a good mainboard and the 1600x + a decent cooler and you will be set ."

What is ur point you are trying to get across? are you asking that as a question, or are you trying to prove me wrong?

Ah okay,

Yea, It is pretty much the same, If you plan on Overclocking, Most people suggest going for the 1600 non X + if you are getting a New cooler might as well.

If you dont plan on overclocking 1600x, Has a higher Base clock.

Neither, get the 2600 for higher clock, lower temps, and newer silicon.  Its still compatible with b350.  It outperforms both the 1600 and the 1600x by a noteworthy mark.  Also, if you are paying for a dark rock, you should be overclocking.  If not the, the wraith spire will be more than enough and that 60 bucks could go towards a gtx 1080 or a vega 56, hell with the price of the card you have currently selected you could gat a vega 56.
