so most of my parts have arrived the last few should be here by Saturday and I can attempt my build. Now that I have almost all parts in I’ve starting to feel extremely over whelmed. Any advice for someone who’s never built a pc before? I’ve watched tons of YouTube vids and worst case my local frys can build it for my for a price which I would like to avoid.

I’ll be putting everything together on my wooden kitchen table. Make a note that need to to touch my case often. Thank you. I know this may be a silly question but should I be wearing some sort gloves like surgical  blue ones or are clean bare hands ideal?

yeah. don't spend 2000$ on computer parts. build a couple of free pc's at least...

the one big downside about linus or any pc youtuber is it creates a whole generation of people building pcs that only have a handful of videos worth of knowledge on the subject trying to build pcs. it really sucks becuase you then have people spending thousands of dollars on equipment they know little about and risk a lot of money hoping they know how to diagnose the machine not posting or hoping all the parts are compatible or work without any backup parts to fall back on if they don't.

anyway , end rant , make sure you know what you're doing is all.

Haha desktop parts are not that delicate. They arent tough as bricks, but you dont have to treat them like an infant either. I put my parts on the floor (ceramic surface) and just build wuth ny bare hands, not even grounding myself.

As for the choice of parts, let's say it would be better if I dont comment on it.

Not saying you’re wrong at all on that. I’m  not concerned about the price because it’s something I’m hoping my sons and I can share and all use and also frys can always get me out of jam if need be. I was just looking for some tips and last min potinters so I could make some notes not to forget. you’re right about me watching some YouTube videos and reading a few articles and I felt I could handle it but I’m sure there’s a lot more that will go into this and I wasn’t trying to insult the pc community at all by thinking it super simple.

I have an S340 myself, the only thing i'd note is the black plastic cable clips are extremely cheap just try not to overload them and they'll hold just fine.

That's all i really have to comment on the build. Good Luck! :D

[UPDATE]: The clips i'm talking about are only on the S340 Elite(which i have), didn't think the differences between that and the standard S340 were different beyond the Tempered glass. Just be sure to use extra Zip Ties.
