Hey guys since my printer decided that it was time for him to die i need a new printer. But i have now idea what kind of printer is the best.

I use my printer a lot because i do all my homework on the pc and then i print it out. (Because i type around 5x as fast as i write. 100 wpm vs 20) And what i heard is that laser is great for text but extremly bad for anything else. Is that true? Also i need the printer to be rather small because well it's going on my desk. I don't really care about other fancy featuers that a printer can have but if it fits the budget why not? I'd say max 300€. (I can go up if needed)

Thanks

Do you only specifically want it to print A4 size prints? any A3 printer?

I say go for laser if HW is mostly what you print.  If you really need photos or something else you can go to some place like Kinko's or CopyMax and have it done for a novel fee.  I use this printer from Brother:

It's as small as you're going to get with laser and it's really good quality for text.

System: Intel Core i5 3570K OC@ 4.4GHz | Cooler Master Hyper N520 | ASUS Maximus V Gene | 8GB Mushkin 1866MHz RAM | MSI R7970 Lightning | Seasonic X-850 | Fractal Design Define R4 White Windowed Edition

Peripherals: BenQ XL2420T 1920x1080@120Hz | Filco Majestouch 2 Tenkeyless (with Cherry MX Browns) Mechanical Keyboard | Razer DeathAdder Left-handed Edition Mouse | ODAC to various things

Since ink is also a priority I think you should buy another set of inks just in case.

A scanner might be important I don't know but its useful.
