PC broken down...

Hi, so my friends PC now completely broke down. I had another thread on this forum about his PC where I said that it would always shut down after the littlelest bit of use. Now it's completely broken. At first it booted but it would only show the mouse pointer on a dark screen. Now the PC seems to boot (fans start spinning) but the screens stay dark and so do his keyboard/mouse. I think it might be motherboard or the PSU...

My first thought went to a dying PSU. If you've got another one lying around to test it with, you're best off doing so to see if it is the case before a potential bad supply has the chance to cause damage.
