I’m doing my first ever build and decided to go with an AMD 2600X. I read that it runs hot so I was wondering if the included cooler will be good enough or should I upgrade to avoid an future issues?

the included cooler will cool the cpu with no issue and won't hurt lifespan(to a noticeable amount)

 

A aftermarket cooler will be quieter, and cooler if you want to oc more and will be a bit faster(think about 1-5% max with a better cooler in some workloads) due to xfr boost.

you could always order another cooler later on so id suggest using the stock cooler and seeing how your oc and temps look and then making a decision.

I appreciate the advice. Since this will be my first real pc, I doubt I will try to OC it for a while so I can learn more about everything.

It's fine . I had one on my r7 1700 and it ran under 50C stock
