K95 platinum issue

my Corsair K95 platinum has a weird problem.

 

sometimes the led's freeze, but the keyboard still works. i can still type on it when that happens. the CUE will have a red thing on the icon and say it malfunctioned, but if i unplug it and plug it back in, it's fine..

 

is this just a stupid software problem or is the hardware faulty?

A stupid question: have you tried reinstalling the software?

that's not a stupid question.. the answer is no. because i don't wanna lose my profiles.. 

 

besides, the software doesn't crash because the lights on my M65 pro are fine.

Can't you export your profiles, reinstall the software and then import the profiles again?
