My rig is a modest one with an ivy bridge I3 and 7850 2gb card.

My Etailer has an epic deal on a 280X for £200, Its the MSI gaming series version and Im really tempted,

I just want opinions on wether my CPU will hold it back, do you think it will be a good upgrade even though I have a pretty budget CPU?

Many thanks and merry christmas

Well if you want it then buy it :)

That is how I operate :P

Also I think it'll be a decent upgrade over a 7850 but don't take my word for it, I'm inexperienced with AMD's.

Also Merry Christmas

Well i3 isnt the best cpu out there, especially in bf4, but if you buy this card now, you can buy like 140 pound i5 later when you sell your 7850 and i3.

What you guys think?

I second this.

I have to point out though that the 280X Gaming has serious VRM overheating issues.

MSI "fixed" the issue by running the fans at a ridiculously high RPM.
