TV screen melted?

Cynestal

The side of the tv has a black mark, the platic cover has moved to the rigbt and like gone brown, and there is a very slight dark line going down the tv. Any idea how this could have happened?

No, nothing, and there hasn't been any sun to even heat it, it's been a thunderstorm all day.

Blown capacitor, Short Circuit, static build-up maybe since there's a thunderstorm nearby and lightning is just caused by tons and tons of static electricity. Other than that not a clue, also I'm not a professional or know nearly as much about electronics as a lot of people on this forum. On a forgotten note it could have also just overheated in that area.

To be honest, it does not look like it's melted.

What is the screen type?

I don't know, I know the model though, LG 55UH8507.

It is an IPS panel.

I'm definitely no expert, but this kind of thing is usually the result of physical damage, or a manufacturing defect.

If it is a new TV. it might be worth trying to claim warranty.
