Hello everybody,

i own an old motherboard with an pentium E6700, but when i tried to boot it it just gave me one continous beep

and as i am fairly new to pc building idk what to do

i tried the following things:

- taking out the battery thingy on the mobo for 30 secs

- checking all the power connections

- moving RAM to another slot

- tacking GPU out and turning it on

but still i get one long beep

please help and give me some other options to fix this

Ram might be bad, try another stick if possible, or use memtest to test it.

how do i do memtest?

btw i dont have another ram stick lying around, and i am 100% sure the ram works, used it in another system and it wont give any monitor screen output

in anyway, thanks for the help

Is there any fans that are missing, sometimes motherboards freakout if no fan is connected to the motherboard in connectors called "cpu_fan" or called something simular.

Ubuntu 24.04 on Ryzen 5 5600x and GTX 1070

Mint 22 on Razer Blade i7-11800h and RTX 3070
