My laptop screen turned green and pink after windows 10 instalation

GuiGianotti

Recently the screen of my asus n550jk laptop started doing weird. It developed a purle/pink glow and also kept old opened screen in the background which would not dissappear.

This happened after I installed the first update since I changed from windows 10 to windows 8 (it was a problem after shutting down during a update). At first it would sometimes go back to the old normal screen state, but now it keeps being purple/pink.

I bought one new screen with the same part number, but nothing changes (the screen doesn't work at all).

I thought it was only a problem with the sceen, but i don't know anymore... some people said the problem is with the motherboard. I can't send to asus to fix because the warranty expired years ago.

Can anybody help me out?

Also what is your GPU? An AMD 300 series or something else?

Because you installed a different operating system: Have you installed all of the drivers properly?

Ah. One way to confirm that it's the motherboard/gpu is to plug it into an external monitor and see what color that monitor is.

Generally you can't fix notebook problems like that. You can't replace the parts and there's usually no software fix. Though maybe you could do some kind of color calibration to offset it.
