Hey guys,

So i've built my first ever pc in January, and since then i've been using it quite a lot (and had some major issues for about a month, but thankfully those are now gone), and a few weeks ago i've noticed that i've lost some framerates in games.

For example, GTA V was running at Very High-High settings, stable 70-80 fps, and now i'm barely pulling 50 on High-Normal, and the same thing happened to R6 Siege.

Is there a fix for this, other than upgrading?

Thanks a lot in advance :)

(specs, if that helps: R3 1200 @3.8GHz (1.29V), 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport @2666MHz oc-d, and a humble little Gigabyte 1050ti (the smaller 2fan version)

Wear and tear of the CPU. Maybe change the thermal paste as it can be thermal throttling? That is probably one possible explanation.

actually that might be the issue since i've been using the stock thermalpaste for 5 months, and my cpu usages went the f*ck up

Replace it if you want the performance boost. Have you taken the cooler off in the period of 5 months?

hi.

This isn't car engine or something else - it can't loose performance in such a little time.

Possible reasons why your system is slow are:

-oevrheating

-bad drivers

-over filled storage

-failing components

Clean the system, replace the thermal paste. If that doesn't fix it backup the important data, do a full wipe of the storage form, install fresh windows and drivers and this will fix your issues.

before you actually replacing the thermal paste, make sure it actually overheating.

other things to check for troubleshooting.

  • GPU temperature
  • GPU core & memory speed while gaming
  • CPU clock speed while gaming
  • CPU & GPU usage while gaming

You can use software like MSI Afterburner or HWINFO to monitor these things.
