AM3 motherboard and minor upgrades compatible

I am using MSI 970A SLI Krait edition (MS-7693), AMD FX-8320 processor, AMD radeon R7 200 series GPU.
recently my friend selling off his PC parts by parts and leaving Gigabyte GTX1060 G1 gaming 6GB GPU and samsung EVO 960 M.2 SSD and he is offering me pretty good price in malaysia.
But my motherboard is older generation and dont have M.2 slots. I found out that i can buy a PCIe adapter for it and many review from IT shops around said my motherboard cant support it or some said it either supports one of them (GPU or SSD). Many mixed answers from good old tech shops and some local online forum (malaysian made IT forum), commonly just ask me buy new PC and dump the old one... but i have my limited budget.
May i know, my motherboard can support both GPU and the M.2 (with PCIe adapters)? Please help as soon as possible because my friend gives me 2 weeks consideration (already pass 1 week, and i left 1 more week to give him answers thank you all so much!!!)

Just use a riser card in an x1 slot rather than populating your gpu's x16 slot. Then you can still use m.2 in the riser card, provided you use the m.2 adapter in the riser card.

There are 10 types of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

There is no reason to think that a pci-e adapter for m.2 and a gpu cant run at the same time on that mb

While yes the AMD 970 + 950 chipset combination is not exactly cutting edge – it has been around since 2011- however in its current form it not only allows for SLI video card configurations, but also the latest AMD CPUs and DDR3 memory. Simply put, consumers really only are giving up 200Mhz on HyperTransport, M.2 & SATA Express based solid state drives, and dual x16 SLI configurations – such a setup is only x8/x8 capable.

im having abit hard to get the full picture on what the are saying in that text..

but a m.2 adapter for 3.0 x4 PCIe should work  but ur gpu will only run at 8x insted of 16x

Is the riser card slotted into mini sized PCIe look alike slot sitting beside PCIe slot?

Yeah it goes into the very small slot next to the pcie.
