controlling muliple speakers?

hey im installing 4 ceiling speakers and i need to know how i can set them up to all be controlled by one player so they all play at the same time, a type of hub for all the speakers. It could go into an amplifier and then into some other external medIa player to come off of my phone. Im open to all suggestions on how i should set them up.

An AV Receiver should do the trick.

 

EDIT: Though depending on what kind of speakers you have, you may need something between the receiver and the speakers.

im using some Polk Audio RC80i and can you elaborate on what i would need to have in between these and the receiver, much thanks

Anything supporting Yamaha receiver Musiccast would be good. That's what I use for multi-room control. Supports a few different platforms.

can you give me any examples because im kinda confused on what you mean

also im looking for something that projects the same sound on each speaker and by looking at the inputs some of the receivers are surround sound which inst what i want

Do you have amps already?

Probably best to get two amps one for left and the other for the right (sadly a back and forwards is pointless since everything is in stereo. Or if you need 4 amps because you cant run the speakers in a chain.

Media source (what ever you like) then you can go into a little mixer if you want to add some control for other devices. Then just split the outputs and send one to the left and the other to the right.

 

To be fair professional amplifiers have inputs and link outputs. So could just use that and link between the amps the audio source.
