Already have a 2tb HDD for adtl general storage. What I need most is guidance on the graphics card. I need at least 2 HDMI outputs, but as far as memory and gen, I'm as lost as you can get. My selected gpu was filtered from 4gb minimum and 4-5 star reviews, then sorted by lowest price up. Last question, regarding cooling, which path is better? What I have here, or water cooling? Not worried about maintenance, installation, etc, just what's most effective and better to use. If it goes beyondy price point, I would still appreciate the input for future reference. Thank you for all and any help in advanced!!!!

Also you can't overclock a 8600k without a z370 motherboard so unless you spend the extra money on that and a better cooler then there is no reason to get the 8600k.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xCJ8ZR this is what I would get. Has a much better gpu and a cpu that is well suited for both gaming and productivity. If you are really dead set on going Intel I would suggest the i5 8400 as it is a way better value than the i5 8600k and should allow you to get a better gpu. Also 16gb should be fine to start out with and you can buy another 16 once you need it.

Would a better gpu benefit the productivity or gaming aspect?

The gaming aspect for sure but also productivity depending on the program.

All my editing will be through Adobe, not my first choice, but school is providing it so saving me a small fortune there, and then blender for 3d production.

Then absolutely get the 2600x. The 2600x destroys the i5 in blender while in Adobe they preform fairly similar.
