I want to upgrade my PC but i do not know what to choose.

This is what i currently have:

Intel Pentium G4560

GIGABYTE GTX 1050Ti 4G

2x4GB DDR4-2133

H110M-S2H

I have a budget of around €500 (US$580) and i will mainly use this PC for 1080p gaming.

I was thinking about a Ryzen 5 1600, B350 Gaming + and 16GB DDR4-3200 for €429 (US$500).

Will this be a good upgrade or should i go for something else?

yea the ryzen 5 upgrade will be good enough and then sell the current parts that the upgrade is gonna replace

or keep your 8GB ram and use it with this

Go for i7 7700 and go for 16gb ram dual channel and then later upgrade your gpu to a better one when it is cheaper

Move up to an i5 6500, or i7 7700 if you want to max out your board

then later replace the GPU with something like a 1070 or whatever the newer version of the 1070 is gonna be

then get a 1440p monitor

Just the i7 7700k will cost €305 (US$355)
An i5 6500 with 16GB of ram will be €370(US$430)

I also have no interest in a higher resolution monitor. I like 1080p the most.

There is also a Z370-P / i5-8600K / 16GB kit for €579(US$675) available
Would that be good?

I think i can sell all the parts for around €290 (US$340) which makes the total costs for the Ryzen kit €149 (US$175).

---------------------------------

What about futureproofing? Isn't AMD going to use AM4 longer then Intel will use 1151?

yes AMD already announced that AM4 is gonna be one socket for the mainstream user until 2020 so you are more secure on AMD than Intel if you are looking to use your AM4 board for many years while still able to put newer Ryzen CPU

no, all of those options are not gonna push your framerates as much as a Graphics Card upgrade

stick with the Ryzen kit and don't sell the current 8GB ram because it will also work with the new 8GB kit that i listed

These parts were selected based on your initial considerations.

  • The 1600 is solid for gaming and streaming until you decide to upgrade
  • The STRIX B350 is truly a remarkable masterpiece combining beauty and brawn, arguable the best b350 motherboard on the market
  • This particular ram model was taken directly from the Asus - STRIX B350-F GAMING's QVL and should work fine (big frequency) image.png.457fac4e67ce4066f83d4d3c1527c690.png

You could find a board that supports dual channel ram and save yourself some more money since RAM is still pricey at the moment. You can play most games with 8GB of RAM so far, and when you need more RAM you could just buy the same brand and slap those in for 16GB. Also you can buy a better board, motherboard, or CPU with the amount of money you saved from buying RAM.

Why not a newer 2600?

The performance is not that much more and costs €19,05 (US$22) more than the 1600

An extra 10% of performance + an improved IMC isn't necessarily nothing. Sure, it's not vastly better, but it IS better.
