Advice e-reader

I have been looking for a good e-reader with a fair price for a while now but there are so many available that I don't know what to choose.

I personally was thinking about the new Kobo Clara HD ~130€.

It also needs to support 3rd party downloaded e-books, not sure if Kindle devices support it.

Any advice?

Great e-reader, wish I'd thought of these before getting a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, I'd suggest getting a 32GB model for more content storage. But the thing about those is that you have to rely on internal memory which sucks, that's why I went with a tablet, my internal memory + external storage (32GB + 200GB mSD) ensures that I've got enough spare for graphic novels as well (like the Secret Wars series as well as my Lone Wolf and Cub series which chews up a lot of storage space, sucks that Play Book and Dark Horse don't allow me to transfer my ebooks to my mSD card, but I believe Kindle does though). Still, I do enjoy reading my ebooks on my tablet.

Why a tablet? An e-reader has a better battery life, and isn't it easier on the eyes when reading?

I am already behind a screen the entire day (Android programmer), not sure if there is a big difference with an e-reader.

I'd have liked to have gotten an e-reader, but I'd not really put much thought into that because I wanted something a little more....versatile, since I also wanted to watch movies and perhaps listen to music on Spotify as well as from my collection of FLAC, WAV and MP3's. Add to the fact that the tablet I'd chosen allows for mSD slot storage and it's a no brainer. Right now, the 200GB mSD card I have installed in my tablet has enough storage for my needs......my primary focus versatility and ample storage.....no e-reader can match that.

Basically, I didn't want a one trick horse....reminds me of the time I'd gotten an Audio Technica ATH-W5000 headphone, beautiful to look at but didn't sound right to me. The seller recommended that I get a Yamamoto tube amp he was selling to bring the ATH-W5000 to live, but it was a one trick horse (the amp) and perhaps jells well with the W5000, but I wasn't willing to invest in an amp that may sound good with just that one headphone.
