I *recently* starting overclocking my 6700k to 4.5GHz core due to some benchmarking projects that  I have. I thought it weird that everyone was reporting Vcores of like 1.26v, 1.255v and such, when I just barely managed it at 1.355 volts. Then I realized that it was the cache ratio that was 1:1 with my core ratio, which I had set to because I am new to OC and my friendly ASrock UEFI read that I was supposed to have the same maximum cache ratio as my core. Of course, I learned that those only happens well in a perfect world and that most people go with stock x41 ratio with the cache. So, I did that to cut back heat and power consumption.

Then the shit hit the f**king fan.

I did what everyone else seemed to do: x45 for core, x41 for cache maximum and minimum. BCLK at stock 100. I turned my power mode to "Turbo mode(in contrast to 'max battery' and 'max non-turbo')", and I dialed back first to 1.30v for Vcore.

 > Cinebench score dropped from 875cb(stock) and 960cb(4.5G, 1.355v OC) to f**king 650cb. Same cache ratio as stock and higher core, but a 200cb drop?

 > Then I kinda pushed it further to 1.26v, as everyone else seemed to get their 6700k's working on. Computer started throwing up random incoherent BSOD codes, reboot after reboot. Had to attempt system recovery because BSOD won't stop even after returning to UEFI defaults.

Could anyone please tell me what the actual f*** is going on? Is my chip bad? Or is my Asrock z170m-itx/ac not powerful enough?

Any educated(or not) response would be greatly appreciated.
