PC to travel with (Gaming and work)

D3monw3st

Hello,

I'm looking to create a PC that I can game quite viciously with and get good frames while also being able to travel to college and back (taking it on the airplane). Small form factor would be okay, but i'm not sure if mid tower would work? Any thoughts?

If you could post your builds below, that'd be great.

I'm looking for a PC that can play PubG at almost max settings, while also being able to render pretty well (Adobe Premiere Pro) .

I'm also looking for the PC to either feature watercooling, or a fantastic fan setup that would work with overclocking if needed.

Budget: 1k - 2.5k

I have looked at the Corsair One, but have heard about it being over priced.

MFP (My First PC) - Mobo: MSI - X470 GAMING PRO CARBON | CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 X | RAM: Team T-Force Vulcan 16 GB 3000 | STORAGE: Crucial MX500 M.2 500 GB | GPU: GTX 1080 | CASE: Fractal Design Meshify C | FANS: 3 extra Noctura NF-F12 PWM 120mm | PSU: EVGA 750 W Semi-Modular
MFL (My First Laptop) - 15 inch Mac Book Pro w/ Touch Bar
OD (Old Desktop) - 5k iMac 27 inch

Do not need the OS. Monitor would be nice, but not mandatory. Country: US.

It seems to have some complications, should that be concerning?

it just means one of the Sata ports won't work when the m.2 slot is used, and the CLC 280 should fit just fine.

Ah okay, cool. Makes sense. If I were to tone down the GPU, what would you suggest? Also, would the liquid cooling leak by any chance b/c of the movement in flights.

I know you said small form factor desktop would be OK, but I feel like a laptop would really make your life a lot simpler.  Especially because you can get full Core i7 6 core CPU's and stock clock 1070's in laptops now.  The new Razor Blade 15" with 6 core i7/1070 for ~$2200 would be my pick.

PS: I've heard really good things about the Corsair One, but yes the price seems on the high end for what you get.

I currently use a MacBook Pro 15 inch, no point in me buying another laptop.

Which MacBook Pro?  You could get an external GPU dock, boot into Windows, and probably game quite well.

Sorry dbl post.

Common misconception. Egpu's don't work with the display, unless you use an external display.

If you're talking about a desktop, you're going to have an external monitor that way?  Assuming you need the monitor either way, it may still save a lot of money to use your MacBook Pro as the brains of the operation.
