Multiple Internet WIFI Connections with Same SSID

Kartik Chopra

Hey Guys,

Just wondering, I have a broadband connection and at least 2 MIFI (mobile Wifi) devices working on 4G data, which I have setup with the same SSIDs and the same passwords.

I have never tried switching them on at the same time (as two are basically portable internet), but was wondering what would happen if I would.

If anyone has tried this please share.

Your device would connect to whichever had the strongest signal and in theory would switch between them when one became too weak compared to the other. The switchover however wouldn't be seamless and you would drop connectivity for a moment.

Exactly like @Lurick said.  The key is in theory your device should connect to the wireless connection with the strongest connection but that can be somewhat unpredictable if both WiFi signal co-exist all the time.
