A quick question about water cooling

So I am having a CoolerMaster Maker 5 case and wanted to mount a 280mm EVGA clc to the front of  the case.

However, due to the "protecteive" design from maker 5, my fan was blocked from directly contact with my radiator by a thin metal plate(5mm).

I can not get ride of this plate.

All the video I saw on the youtube channels are having their fans directly in contact with their radiator.

Will this have a big impact on how the air flow?

Is there a way to solve this problem

I attached the image

It won't be something massive a marginal amount since most of the air will still be forced through the rad. If you want to eliminate it you can get radiator gaskets or use some closed cell weather stripping to seal the gap.
