It's the 3rd time in 2 months that my pc has crashed during a competitive game of overwatch. It's happened once in Fortnite as well. I looked inside to see If my pc was considerably dirty, the fans were not clogged with dust, no clogs of dust anywhere on the outside, and no dust on the case fan.

It happened on my 4-5th game of Overwatch and it just suddenly froze, nothing moved so I used the force shut down button my pc case to turn it off and reboot it, booted like normal, a bit longer considering it had to start up things again and I lost 50 Sr.

My specs are on my profile.

I'll briefly list it

i5 6600k oc to 4.4 ghz (It's crashed even before overclocking)

gtx 1060

MSI Z170A

1 case fan that's set to max (because it's 3 pin and I have 4 pin)

A CPU Cooler from mastercooler around £20 not sure exact model

1tb storage

16gb viper ram (2x 8gb)

Note I haven't done any thorough cleans as it didn't even seem that dirty for over 2 years, I've just given it some simple wipes with my hands, some tissues on the fans and that's my 'cleaning' done.

Is your GPU overclocked? Overwatch and ANY Unreal engine games (Fortnite) HATE overclocked GPU's generally, they can freeze a game and computer while spewing out errors (Even with GPU boost 3.0 pushing it)

You dont have to touch the GPU in Bios for it to self overclock (the gpu boost goes by Temps)

Then how do you tell?

Based on how programs crashes and what the signs are. Generally game freezes like that lead me to believe its either a GPU Issue, or CPU Issue. You dont have much to swap parts to see whats causing the issue.
