400W might be cutting it close, what are the rest of your specs?

The PSU in and of itself is a bit sketchy, VS units aren't particularly good. You'll be cutting it pretty close. If possible, I would recommend getting a CX450M at the very least.

The CPU might make streaming and gaming a bit of a challenge, so be prepared for that.

I plan to upgrade the CPU in the future

Don't get a Corsair VS400, it's average. The Be Quiet PurePower 10 (and CM), Antec Earthwatts EA G Pro, Corsair CX, Corsair CXM and Coolermaster MasterWatt (not lite) are far better choices for around the same price.

While hyper-threading always helps at least some with multihreaded loads there really aren't good upgrade paths on that platform for streaming...

Thanks to Intel's frequent new socket even without architectural changes policy.

Ok, I have a 400W PSU and an i5-7500 and I plan on getting a 1060 3gb on Friday, would that be enough power to stream and record GTA 5?

400W is double what that system would use. However, the VS400 isn't great. It is a brand-new Corsair unit though, so at least keep it as long as it has a warranty.

Don't upgrade your GPU beyond a GTX 1080 in terms of power draw if you choose to upgrade.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

What PSU are you getting Saturday? For all we know it could be worse than your VS400.

I have already ordered it

Cancel it or return it. It's not that much better than your old VS400. We advised you to get a modern-gen CX-series, not an outdated group-regulated CX500.

The CX450/CX550 are the ones you want. Anything with a grey logo on the side rather than one in green.
