As said in the title I'm planning to build a NAS for my small business at home (nothing too fancy).

I'd rather build one myself than buying a pre-built one.

Requirements:

- Components need to be bought new as I need to make some costs for the business.

- Able to make automatic backups from several computers

- Maybe some streaming capability for personal use.

Any suggestions for components and OS?

Thanks

How much storage? What network speed

Id really suggest prebuilt, there normally a better solution here, esp without much experience.

4-8TB should be plenty.

As stated i'm not interested in prebuilt.

Just need a suggestion on a motherboard, cpu and os ;)

Then id go with a basic pentium chip on a board like this one.

and a os like freeNAS or unraid.
