Relocate User Folders?

I'm just looking to get these folder links to come from different places in Windows 10. I have a SSD C:/ and a HDD F:/, and I'd like to have music, docs, etc. come from F:/. If anyone knows if this is possible or can provide any help, please let me know. Thanks!

right click on the icon,then go to properties, then select location and change it to F.

 

For example right click on the "videos" icon. Then go to properties, then find the location and change it to F:\Videos

It should be as easy as right clicking, Documents, for example, and clicking Properties. Then click the Location tab and change the address. I'd back up the files first, just to be safe. But this is what I've done to reduce space taken on my SSD boot drive.

Actually @Some Random Member @johndms does this work seemlessly with desktop, too? Seems like that could cause some problems

i have desktop on hdd not ssd and it works just great.

I use registry and edit the location of the "User Shell Folders" to put all my AppData onto my D: drive

That way if I reformat, I don't lose my program customisations/data or my game progress data.

You can move more than your Documents/Videos/Pictures/Music folders. 

The example I gave is redirecting AppData which you can't do with the explanation above. Not everyone would care about moving their AppData, but because my computer backs up my D:\<user> folder - it backs up my AppData which includes my user specific settings and game settings/save game data, steam/origin game location, launch options, etc....

 

Another benefit is if you manage multiple computers, then you can script registry key changes. 

Part of my recovery, is that I have a script that just sets the registry keys. I can reinstall my OS or recreate my user profile, apply my redirect.reg, and im back up and running.
