So I am not sure where this would be best posted but here it is.

In a weeks time I am building my new gaming/work rig and I was wondering which drivers to install.

I looked on the website for my motherboard (https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z370P-D3-rev-10#support-dl-driver-audio) and there are so many different drivers - 20 or so.

Do I download every single one or is there only a set few I may need to download - do I have to download them onto a USB stick and then install them from there or what.

This goes for other drivers too but I assume drivers for graphics cards, cpu, etc would be a lot less.

Thanks!

Windows is generally pretty good at installing the required drivers for you.

You should download the GPU drivers yourself once Windows is installed, but most of the other ones should be up to date and working without you doing anything. If you have an issue with something, then you should download the latest driver for that.

Alright, cheers so the system would still work without drivers (if you get what I mean).

So even though some may be outdated or whatever it would still work?

Thanks man!

Just go to Motherboard's website, CPU's website and GPU's website, download those drivers, rest of the stuff would be handled by Windows.

Any Windows will have generic PnP drivers by default. Win10 is supposed to download and install most of drivers automatically. If you are missing something or don't trust Windows, then its time to be manual. Like drivers for keyboard, mouse and so on are usually better from manufacturer. If there are multiple options on what to download, check release date or version number and pick latest. Gigabyte has its own app for updating drivers too.

Just read before posting, its not that hard. OP already knows about MB site and was confused as Gigabyte lists multiple releases of drivers. CPU's don't even have drivers, motherboards chipset driver handles that.

@LoGiCalDrm  I know I'm meant to download the drivers but my question was actually which ones? All of them? Only a select few?

One of each which has newest release date. There's one for audio (2 versions), 2 for chipset (3 versions each), 1 for LAN (3 versions), some RAID stuff you don't really need if you aren't running RAID, and iGPU driver (3 versions). They have multiple versions available in case newest isn't working for you. Then you can uninstall it and install older version to fix issues.

Also driver installers are quite smart. If you already have latest driver installed, installer will inform about it.

Like said before, Win10 should have everything. If you are using older Windows, then downloading at least LAN driver before might be thing to do. Though I've only seen LAN not working when mobo uses Killer's network stuff (aka MSI).
