that's quite expensive though..

Said the person with 2 xeon's, 250GB ssd,, 30GB ram pc

Personally I don't think it's a smart idea to put it on a phone as you said yourself, you will have to carry a mouse and keyboard anyway so the product you suggest is the best option after all

almost everything except ssd, hyper 212 and gpu in my pc is used...

here's what i paid:

2 xeon's: €100

250gb ssd: €130

24gb ram: €85

gtx 1050: €170

chassis+mobo+PSU+6GB  ram+ 1 cooler combo: €75

hdd's: €50

hyper 212 evo: €40

total: €650

only €233 more than that mini laptop...

EDIT: the cost of my pc is without factoring in Windows. if you factor Windows 10 pro into it it's €909, and €492 more than the laptop.

How were you able to get everything so cheap? xo I got a laptop of 600 Euro which isn't even a true Quad core with only 6GB of DDR4 Ram ^^"

May I ask why you are running Fedora on your laptop instead of windows? I just noticed that

almost everything is used parts, and you are forgetting my cpu's are from 2010, so.. quite old.

because i HATE Windows 10. in an ideal world i wouldn't use Windows at all, but i play a lot of games that won't run on Linux so.. on my laptop which only has intel graphics anyway i don't need Windows, so i don't use it.

Well I'm joining the club! I am starting to hate windows 10 with a passion as well. I don't play many games but I need Adobe premiere sadly enough :/ tomorrow my mission is to clean my whole pc, format my ssd and install a clean windows and the other half of my SSD goes to Linux. After looking around I am still thinking between Ubuntu and Mint. I'm wondering why you have chosen Fedore of all distro's.  (I've been using linux distro's for some time now)

i chose Fedora because i wanted to learn it, and because i think Ubuntu 18.04 is a little unstable still.

if you don't know much about Linux, i would go with Mint. i've had good luck with that in the past, although it's a little too simple for me.

and yeah i've been thinking of dual-booting my machine as well, but i don't have the SSD space for it. i might buy another SSD just to do it though..

There are a lot of options:

Linux Deploy: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.meefik.linuxdeploy&hl=en

Termux has the best intergration with Android but you will need to install a third party repo https://xeffyr.github.io/termux-x-repository/ or install a distro such as ubuntu in a proot https://github.com/Neo-Oli/termux-ubuntu

There is also GNU Root https://www.xda-developers.com/guide-installing-and-running-a-gnulinux-environment-on-any-android-device/

You probably want to use this alongside them: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=x.org.server

buy nexus 4. You can install ubuntu touch on it and when connected to monitor with it's slimport ubuntu desktop interface shows on monitor and the phone becomes touchpad and keyboard :) you can use wireless mouse and keyboard and have full desktop experience with it.

Or you can install Sailfish OS (Just another linux distro) on nexus 4 and run arch linux or manjaro or ubuntu arm version in chroot environment. It will be fast and it will work even better then ubuntu chroot, but sadly you loose desktop setup because slimport does not work on sailfish os.

Ubuntu touch + Nexus 4 is the way to go for you :)

maybe it will work on nexus 5 too. I have ordered slimport and i can check it after 2-3 weeks.

well you could use an arm port of arch linux or lubuntu or fedora arm. The real question is your personal tastes and your phones specs.

*1 gb ram

*480 gb storage

*intel learning but its not teaching
