First PC :)

wowlmao

It's basically the same build twice, you will see no performance difference between the two of them. Just pick whichever motherboard you like better and you're good to go.

Not trying to be rude, but why would he need a bigger PSU? His system will draw under 400W, so a 550W is more than enough, even with overclocking. No reason to get anything higher.

Add an 240GB SSD, it's completely worth it.

I was told that you want to almost double the projected power draw, was that wrong?

Dripped the CPU down to a 8400 and B360 board to match. Removed AIO as it is nolonger needed.

This made it possible to fit a 250GB SSD, better PSU, gtx 1080 instead of a 1070ti. Better RAM. And youve got 43$ leftover for what you want to do

Getting a PSU that's double your power draw is for keeping usage in the peak efficiency curve.  It's like a bell curve.  For performance, more power supplied than you need is all that matters.

You're paying more to be more efficient, which reduces energy cost over time.  Kind of a wash really, but if you like more, get more.  We all like big numbers ;)

I would highly recommend doing it from the start.

You'll need to reinstall windows, you can't copy the files over.

Isn't the liquid cooler not nice to have when you want to probably upgrade your pc later on?

The beQuiet Dark Rock 3 can be just as good as the AIO, if not better in some situations.

Sure it might be a bit bulky but it can definitely hold it's own against a 240mm AIO.

When you upgrade your PC you still have to strip everything out anyway, AIO or air cooler, it's all going to come out.

It's a fluid in the bearing assembly, but it's a basic air cooler. :)

Either way, liquid or air will be useful later, they'll have new mounting hardware.

If you don't have a ton of games or files at the start then you can easily add a HDD in later and shuffle the games over, that's fairly easy to do :)

I would wait on doing RGB for now, get a great PC built and looking nice first and add in some RGB strips later when you have a budget that allows the extra stuff

To have a nicely understated PC that looks pretty damn cool without the garish aspects of Rainbow Brite :)
