http://www.dell.com/in/p/inspiron-15-7577-laptop/pd?oc=a548502win8&model_id=inspiron-15-7577-laptop

The first laptop is fully customisable anytime. So I was wondering whether buying the custom laptop will actually be better than a pre-built solid laptop.

I can buy both of them...The first one costs 25-50 (keeps varying) dollars less than Dell. I am from India. Azom is based in India only. Usage will be mostly gaming and some programming (as a computer science undergrad). I basically wanted a laptop with GTX 1060 6 GB and i7-7700HQ. But then the desktop grade i3 is almost equivalent to it (if not better). RAM won't be a problem as I can add more anytime.

Azom laptops aren't available online because they are fully customisable and so we have to contact the company directly. For Dell I could not find any proper link to any i7 model but it hardly matters to me as I will be buying it directly from a certified store.

If you are wondering about the price, I can tell you.

Azom Exigo: ₹ 1,21,422/- (Indian Rupees)

Dell 7577: ₹ 1,25,000/- (This can vary from store to store)

PS: The only link I could find is on official website for Dell. http://www.dell.com/in/p/inspiron-15-7577-laptop/pd?oc=a548502win8&model_id=inspiron-15-7577-laptop.

What do you think? Which one would you prefer?

I forgot to mention that the 1060 which Azom is providing is a full desktop grade graphic card and not a MaxQ version provided in Dell 7577. Even the i3 is desktop grade.

Link to Azom systems: http://www.azom.systems

There you can find all the custom options for processors and graphics card for future upgrades.

I know all those info

1060MQ in 7577 can be tuned to a regular 1060N (need to be aware for any VRM throttling). Also has TB3 means you can plug in eGPU in future. CPU outdated though (7700HQ still capable anyway)

If you want do programming then i3 8100 isn't that suitable. Get at least 7700HQ. P751TM is a really good option (LGA) but needs delided CPU for best results.

Also consider options below:

Y720 (7700HQ+1060), may need repaste

Helios 300 (8750H+1050TI), need repaste

Helios 300 (8300H+1050TI), may need repaste

GP63 8RE (8750H+1050TI)

All need undervolting

Why did you say this? 7700HQ is still used extensively in laptops. i3 8100 is coffee lake and is better than 7700HQ. Wouldn't this be better? And if I face more issues with the processor I can change it anytime down the line

There are new CFL-H CPUs - 8300H and 8750H which are faster than 7700HQ. 7700HQ>8100 in multi core performance, Coffee Lake is just a naming scheme, compare CPU SKUs not names.

Only in LGA laptops like P751TM. Most laptops have soldered CPU and GPU

I asked the customer care of Azom, they said that they do not solder the componenets on the motherboard but rather screw them just like we do in desktops. I even asked for a revised quote for a new processor.

Azom Laptop - Exigo
Clevo Barebone - P750TM1
Display - 15.6” IPS Full-HD 1920x1080 60Hz Matte (anti-glare)

CPU - Intel Coffee Lake Desktop Grade i5-8600K

Sound - Sound BlasterX Pro-Gaming 360, ESS SABRE Hi-Fi DAC headphone audio, 2 x Speakers
Trackpad - Synaptics SecurePad, Integrated Fingerprint Sensor
Card Reader - 6-in-1 Push-Push Card reader
Keyboard - Customizable backlit RGB, anti-ghost keys
Camera - 2.0M FHD Video camera
Battery - 8 cell (82Wh)
Operating System - Microsoft Windows 10 Professional 64-bit (Pre-loaded)

It costs me ₹ 1,33,694/- . So would you recommend me buying this rather than 7577 since the processor is also much better than i7-8750H? I just wanted to know it the price is justifies the hardware.

You don't understand what I mean. P751TM has LGA CPU and MXM GPU which means they can be changed. But in most laptops, CPU and GPU are soldered.

As I said above, P751TM needs delided CPU. If not the CPU isn't usable due to thermals.
