Hello

I have recently purchased a 1070ti after my 970 died . Now after I assembled the PC there are some issues which are occurring in my build

1.stuttering while gaming like rainbow six siege , lot of stuttering and FPS drop close to 60 FPS from 140.

2. FPS not stable keeps fluctuating  between 80 to 140

3.cpu usage remaining to 80%-100%

4.gpu usage spikes to 50% at times otherwise it stays at 5%

other then the stuttering issue none of this issue happed with my 970 on th same game settings

i just wanted to know if there is any bottelneck issue with my card or my cpu ,

i have not oc’Ed my cpu as not a fan of it.

If anyone can help me on this plz do.

That's a CPU bottleneck. It's time to upgrade. For your system, I would recommend the 8600K. New, lightning fast, and not too expensive.

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)

if your cpu usage is that high - and your gpu usage is that low = your cpu is the bottleneck

if your cpu overclocked? if not i woudl highly recommend overclocking to get some more use out of it

or else i would recommend an i7 6700k if your games and apps are optimized for more threads

cpu bottleneck. OC that. Your cooler will limit your OC though, just watch the temps and dont let it get past 75C under P95 stress test.

He has an Asus Strix z270 so i would imagine it will have an auto overclock function, try using one and keep and eye on temps and see if your FPS increases.
