Hello everyone,

I am going to buy a new pc within 1-2 week. So first let me get my spec out of the way then i will get to my questions.

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 7

Processor: Intel Coffee Lake Core i7 8700K (Will overclock to 5ghz atleast i want to)

RAM: Corsair (8+8) 16GB ram (3200 MHz)

AIO Cooler: NZXT Kraken X52 RGB ( i know X62 difference is really low but in my country the price difference is really high x52 to x62 i dont know why its like 100$ difference so i dont want to buy x62 unless i really need it)

Casing: Thermaltake view 71 rgb edition

HDD: 2TB (brand not decided)

SSD: 512 GB (brand not decided)

PSU: 800W-1000W (Assuming ill need that much) (Corsair, Thermaltake, Coolermaster only available on my country)

GPU: 1080TI or the new series if its coming out soon but something equivalent to 1080TI as its going to be my workstation (i work on motion graphics designing) and i will do gaming of course :P TEEHEE

Fans: 3 for radiator + 3 on top + 1 on back

Monitor: Samsung S25HG50FQU (24.5 Inch TN-Panel LED 144Hz Flat Gaming Monitor)

So what i want to know:

1. (Really Important) Will my Kraken X52 be enough for my i7 8700k at 5ghz (i am only cooling my cpu with it not GPU)

2. How much Watt will my setup consume as i am not sure how much should i get for my setup. Including everything i mentioned above what you guys think will be optimal. Also i dont want to be it like near close to 100% psu use if its possible i want some free Watt for breathing room.

3. (Really Important) Its about the air flow of my CPU. I am really confused about the negative and positive airflow also fan types static and air flow type fans. It will be really awesome if someone can illustrate it with a diagram of Thermaltake view 71 casing like which fan should i mount where and which way the air should flow in front, top and back etc. Also the radiator position for optimal cool as i live in a hot environment country. Room temperature here can go upto 25-30+ degree Celsius.

Thanks you guys for reading this long post in advance. I will really appreciate it if you guys help me.

Country is Bangladesh. Budget can be increased as necessary unless its too high. Sorry my bad forgot to add my monitor i have 2 Samsung S25HG50FQU dual monitor setup 144 hz. I will add my monitor model on my main post. Thanks.

Hi, nice build, using the psu calculator website; adding a few extras and taking into a account the OC, your power requirements are about 600W, so pretty much any good 750W+ psu would do.

The kraken should be fine too :)

NeXTcube 12400 Z690M ITX 64GB SN770 6600XT Sugo16 12.5

NeXTserver 9400 H310N ITX 32GB SN350 5500XT Fara R1 12.5

NeXTstation 9900K Z390 ITX 32GB SN750 6800XT Enthoo 12.5

You only need a GTX 1070 ti/Vega 56 for a 1080p 144hz display, anything more is a waste of money for gaming, depending on your other workloads you might want to look into a professional GPU, or a pseudo pro GPU like Vega FE or a titan X(fewer pro optimizations I think)

Could save a bit and get an R5 2600 and be perfectly fine in gaming, plus you get a soldered IHS, and StoreMI for a potentially better system overall.

Get a case that actually has airflow if you want good cooling, maybe an H500P Mesh, or RL06 Pro

The Kraken coolers are overpriced memes. Bunch of other coolers are in the review below

I will definitely take a closer look on these again. Although i kind of liked View 71 and the kraken cooler haha to be honest i knew there are better things out there on a price to performance ratio. Thanks for your opinion definitely will give it a try if things don't go as plan for my build.

If you do get the View 71 you can just take off the front glass and likely drop 10C everywhere.

I don’t know about the fans. Sry.

The Kraken X52 should be fine.

You should get a 800 watt psu. You can get a 850 if you want to upgrade room or the next gen Nvidia card. Your choice.

  1. Is the H100i V2 reasonably priced?
  2. PCPartPicker.com estimates the max draw of your components at under 475W. Allowing for overclocking a 750W psu is more than enough.
  3. Don't worry too much about positive/negative air pressure. Concentrate on moving air through the case. I'd suggest putting the cpu radiator in the front intake. Move the stock front fan to the top rear. Or, mount the radiator in the top at the rear and move the rear stock fan to the front intake.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

I'd go for the H500P Mesh if you want RGB though, has great cooling performance as well.

The difference between H100i V2 and kraken is 47$ here xD. I'll get a 850W PSU i guess. Thanks for the all info :)

Given the high ambient temperatures possible, you should consider going with a more efficient cooler lime the H100i V2.

850W is just ridiculous. It is twice what the system can POSSIBLY draw at stock settings. Even with heavy overclocking of cpu and gpu the system would be hard pressed to top 600W draw at full load.
