Is there any way to stop my ASUS VG248QE from flickering?

Hi,

For a while now I have been noticing that my ASUS VG248QE monitor is flickering when I am using it for my PC. When using my PC the monitor is set to 1080p at 144Hz using a display port cable. I have not yet notice it happening while I am gaming which seems strange to me however it happens on almost every other program on my PC including on when I am sitting on my PC's desktop.

I use this same monitor for my PS4 through an HDMI cable and it doesn't flicker at all so I am starting to get worried that the issue is with the display port in the monitor or in my GTX 1080ti.

Any suggestions or help are greatly appreciated.

increasing the display's brightness to 100 (maximum) may help.
