So yea I know I've posted a thread or two regarding this problem, but those threads have not come up with any answers. So I mind aswell post here in the General Discussion to get more answers about my problem. So the problem is that after recording with dxtory the video seems fine and stuff, and the file size is eh largish with sizes taking up 1 gb a minute or so. And from there after rendering with Sony Vegas the end result is just BAD. The quality of the video has been dropped drastically, the contrast on the video is too much, and everything seems too blurry and you could barely make out if sand is actually sand in minecraft. So below I have the settings I use for dxtory and sony vegas, maybe this might help you.

In the render settings, you can change the bitrate that you export the video file as. The higher the bitrate, the better the quality. Try that and see if it helps :)

How high?

Go as far as you deem suitable, incrementally increase the bitrate to your desire as you render out short clips to test if that is what is causing the quality decrease. Just keep in mind that as you increase the bitrate, the file size increases as well :)

can someone actually help guide me through what codec/settings i should use for dxtory, and what kind of project/render settings to be used.

Are you uploading to YouTube?

Firstly, install the Lagarith Lossless codec, this will help bring the video file sizes down initially, if you want to use the DXTory one, then it's all good.

Since you're bringing the FPS down in Sony Vegas to 30FPS, you might as well record the video in 30FPS, not 60. Also it'll help to change the RPG setting to YUY2 in DXTory, this will also bring down the file size.

For your Sony Vegas settings, it all looks fine, but I'd recommend setting a CBR or Contstant Bit-Rate of around 3 million or so, this should help with quality and bring the file size down to a decent manageable size.

Alright I did that and well... it didn't come out too good. Like things that were slightly further away from the minecraft character would look all all distorted, and stuff. I would send you the video to show you what it looks like but... I'm currently not home atm.
